Fabulous Interaction of Land and Water.

The very water that makes the Inner Banks so picturesque is the very reason it has been so well preserved. The plentiful creeks and rivers that crisscross the region made land travel difficult for early settlers and industry alike. Only the most determined folks would stay-many farmers. Thankfully, the character of the land still resounds, though travel to and from the Inner Banks and all of its waterborne wonders is now a scenic, two hours' drive from Raleigh.
